Our Safety Promise to Our Pediatric Dental Patients – Cumming, GA

Keeping Little Ones Comfortable & Safe

When your child becomes a patient at Village Pediatric Dentistry, every member of our team makes a promise. We promise to treat your child like they are one of our own, which means their health and safety are always our top priorities. That’s why we’re very meticulous when it comes to the materials we use, and we always keep parents in the loop when it comes to their child’s care. Our goal is that when you bring your child to see us, you feel as though they are with family. To learn about some of the ways we’ll ensure your child enjoys safe and comfortable care, read on below. For questions, be sure to give us a call.

Parents Welcome in Rooms

You’re always invited to accompany your child to the back so you can be right by their side during their appointment. For younger children, this can help them feel calm and relaxed, and it also gives parents the chance to learn about their child’s dental needs and ask questions in real-time. We want you to feel like a partner in your child’s dental care, so we’re always happy to include you.

Latex-Free Dental Office

Many children have latex allergies, and unfortunately, many only discover this after they’ve experienced a reaction, most often stemming from a visit to the doctor or dentist. That’s why we have a 100% latex-free dental office. This way, there’s no chance of our little patients being exposed to it. We still have sanitary coverings for our instruments and wear new gloves for every patient, but they are made of a hypoallergenic material that is proven to not cause any adverse symptoms.

Low-Dose Digital X-Rays

One of the biggest concerns parents have about bringing their child to the dentist revolves around X-rays. No parent likes the idea of having their child being exposed to radiation! Thankfully, our dental office has long used low-dose digital X-rays. These emit just a small fraction of the radiation compared to traditional film X-rays, and the amount is so minimal that it’s guaranteed to not cause any problems. In fact, most people are exposed to more radiation just going about their day-to-day business!

Mercury & BPA-Free

Needless to say, the last thing any parent wants is for us to give their child a filling that contains mercury, a notoriously toxic substance. Instead, we offer tooth-colored fillings made of biocompatible composite resin, which in addition to looking more natural, also doesn’t contain anything that could do your child harm. The plastics in our dental office are also completely BPA-free, so you never have to worry about your child being exposed.

Silver Diamine Fluoride

Silver diamine fluoride provides an effective and conservative way to treat cavities that doesn’t involve a drill or injections. The compound is used to stop active cavities by killing the decay-causing bacteria while strengthening the enamel at the same time. It’s also very effective for helping children who experience pronounced dental sensitivity. Basically, it allows us to take care of cavities while preserving as much of your child’s natural teeth as possible.

In-House Orthodontics

If your child ends up needing some type of orthodontic care, we won’t just send you to a specialist that you don’t know or trust. We have our own in-house orthodontist who is board-certified to provide this type of specialty treatment, so your child will be looked after by the same team that you already rely on. This approach not only helps parents and children save time, but stress as well, which are always our goals here at Village Pediatric Dentistry!
