Intraoral Camera
Whenever we examine your child’s mouth, we’ll use a small intraoral camera to take highly-detailed images of their teeth and gums. We’ll display them on a nearby monitor, making it easy for us to spot any potential issues. This approach will also allow you and your child to see their smile up close and personal, ensuring their appointments are educational, transparent, and leave both of you with a deeper understanding of their dental health.
Digital X-Rays
Our digital X-rays offer many advantages compared to traditional film X-rays. In addition to capturing higher-quality images and taking much less time to do so, they also emit 90% less radiation, which is great news for our patients, their parents, and our team! Because the images are digital, it’s easy for us to reference them so we can accurately monitor any long-term changes in a child’s teeth, helping us intervene with any problems long before they cause pain or dysfunction.
Digital Impression System
In the past, if we wanted to take an impression of a child’s teeth, they would have to bite into a mold filled with odd-tasting dental putty. This process was slow, messy, and caused many children to gag, which is why we don’t use it anymore! Now, we can simply scan the teeth with a small device, and in a matter of minutes, we have a perfect digital impression we can use to design a child’s treatment.
Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry
While performing dentistry with lasers might sound like something from one of your child’s cartoons, it’s actually an everyday reality here at Village Pediatric Dentistry! Small, handheld lasers give our team the ability to remove tongue and lip-ties painlessly in just a matter of minutes.
